Support continues to build for the “Preschool for All” proposal
that would provide voluntary, high-quality early learning for
all Illinois 3- and 4-year-olds. Radio ads airing in Chicago and
Springfield March 27 to April 2 highlight the benefits of
quality preschool.
The 60-second ad, sponsored by the Early Learning Illinois
campaign, also features a Spanish-language version that is
airing in Chicago. The Early Learning Illinois campaign is led
by Action for Children, Ounce of Prevention Fund and Voices for
Illinois Children, with strong support from Fight Crime: Invest
in Kids Illinois and Chicago Metropolis 2020.
The English ad features a Chicago police officer and Chicago
elementary school teacher discussing the benefits of quality
preschool. “I’ve been a cop in Chicago for 12 years. And this
could do more to prevent crime in the future than anything,”
Detective Jim Bailey says in the ad.
“As a second-grade teacher, I know I’ll see children ready to
succeed. I feel like we’re finally keeping an important promise
to our kids,” teacher Lisa McMahon says in the ad.
Listen to the ad in English or
Spanish (both are mp3 files).
